IFSC World Youth Climbing Championships: official presentation in Rome

From August 28 to September 6, 2015 Italy’s Arco – Garda Trentino will host the XXIII edition of the IFSC World Youth Climbing Championships.

This promises to be a historic event: for the first time ever the World Youth Championships will be awarded to all four sport climbing disciplines: lead, boulder, speed and combined. Expectations are high and a record number of 1,000 athletes representing 55 countries from five continents are expected.

The event will be presented on Friday, June 5, in the Hall of Honour of the Italian Olympic Committee in Rome. The meeting will be attented by the President of the Italian National Olympic Committee Giovanni Malago, by the President of the International Federation of Sport Climbing Marco Maria Scolaris, by the President of the Italian Sport Climbing Federation Ariano Amici and by the President of Arco Climbing Club Albino Marchi.

This meeting will also be an ideal occasion to award some of the main players of the 2014 season and to highlight the national and international importance of this emerging sport, greatly loved by youngsters and a in the running to be recognised as an official Olympic Games.
